Call for Applications: Founding Director of Development (Independent Contractor)

The American Homebrewers Association is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to serve as the Founding Director of Development for the newly established A-Ha Foundation.

This independent contractor will help build the Foundation’s fundraising program from the ground up. Working with Foundation leadership, the contractor will assess fundraising opportunities, develop an initial strategy and roadmap, identify prospective donors and partners, and lead implementing the highest-priority initiatives.

From garden-grown beets to yearlong melomel, AHA members celebrated Aug. 1 by putting microbes to work.

On Aug. 1, AHA members celebrated Home Fermentation Day by sharing what they had bubbling at home. The results included garden vegetables, fruit-filled mead, homemade staples, and excellent reminders that microbes are tiny but pack a huge punch.

Andrew made lacto-fermented beets using beets from his own garden, garlic, and Thai chiles.

Naturally fermented sauerkraut

Carl Saxer of Hilo, Hawaii

Carl kept things classic with naturally fermented sauerkraut made from cabbage and salt.

The AHA Assistant Brewer is our new AI-powered tool built to help homebrewers get fast, useful answers, troubleshoot questions, and explore AHA brewing resources. Now it needs an identity: AHA members can submit a name, mascot design, or both by Sept. 8 and help shape the look and personality of our newest brewing helper.
